Mentorship Mentorship for yoga teachers is a valuable and important aspect of professional growth and development in the field of yoga instruction. A mentorship program provides guidance, support, and opportunities for learning and improvement, helping new and experienced yoga teachers refine their skills, deepen their knowledge, and navigate the challenges of teaching. You could feel lost and unsupported after finishing your teacher training programme. You can feel like you still copy your teachers or that you haven't established your genuine voice. You could be struggling to modify practises for mixed groups or injuries, feeling lost in the competition, and needing a secure place to express questions. It's possible that you've lost interest in your own practise and that your yoga sessions have turned into preparation for lessons. The OM the Path of Yoga Teacher Mentorship Program aims to support new and experienced teachers by offering specific mentorship that address common teaching challenges. Designed to be highly customised and personal, it focuses on supporting teachers after completing a formal Teacher Training program. Teachers can select modules that provide training on specific topics and consider ongoing support through monthly or hourly mentoring around their chosen topics. Hourly mentoring support is available for those needing ongoing support or are unsure of their specific topic. This support is provided via email, phone, or in person. Mentorship aims Goals and Objectives: Clearly define the goals and objectives of the mentorship program. Determine what you aim to achieve through mentorship, whether it's improving teaching techniques, deepening understanding of yoga philosophy, enhancing communication skills, or addressing specific challenges that teachers may face. Adaptability: Each mentee will have a unique learning journey, so the mentorship will be adjusted as needed. Peer-to-Peer Learning: Opportunities for mentees to learn from each other, by sharing their experiences, successes, and obstacles, creating a supportive and collaborative learning environment. Resources and Support: Resources such as recommended books, articles, online courses, and videos that align with their goals and areas of improvement. Orientation Meeting: Orientation meeting where the mentorship program's structure, expectations, and goals are planned and discussed, a safe and open space for mentees to express their needs and aspirations. Individual Goal Setting: Each mentee can establish their personal goals for the mentorship. These goals can guide the interactions and help tailor the mentorship to their specific needs. Regular Meetings: Regular one-on-one meetings with each mentee. These can be weekly or bi-weekly, depending on availability. During these meetings, discuss progress, challenges, questions, and any guidance they might need. Ongoing Learning: Emphasize the importance of continuous learning and growth beyond the mentorship program. Encourage mentees to stay curious, attend workshops, read yoga literature, and explore different teaching methodologies. Closure and Evaluation: At the end of the mentorship program, hold a closing meeting to reflect on the progress made and discuss next steps. Encourage mentees to share their feedback on the program.
